FCA Uganda is now looking for competent persons to fill the following positions for the; TOGETHER consortium’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) project.
Job Summary: The Consortium Manager will provide leadership to the TOGETHER consortium’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) project, funded by the European Union. This role entails strategic planning, effective implementation, and coordination of EiE activities of all (5) consortium partners to address the educational needs in humanitarian settings and compliance with grant agreement and donor guidelines. S/He must bring an innovative leadership profile with a proven record of accomplishment in program management within humanitarian and/or development contexts. The ideal candidate should also have a solid understanding of education in emergencies and basic quality education work in Uganda, direct implementation and coordination. The position will also have coordination duties within the EiE sector, including with other education actors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the consortium’s EiE strategy, aligning it with ECHO’s objectives and guidelines and general EiE interventions in Uganda.
- Program Management: Oversee the EiE project activities to ensure they are child-friendly, inclusive, and address gender and protection issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with ECHO, Consortium partners, general EiE partners, government and school authorities, and local communities.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the EiE project budget, ensuring compliance with FCA’s and ECHO’s financial regulations and effective resource allocation.
- Capacity Building: Enhance the EiE capabilities of consortium members and local stakeholders through training and support, following the capacity building plan of the Action.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Together with the Consortium MEAL Officer, establish robust monitoring and evaluation systems tailored to EiE, tracking progress against ECHO’s humanitarian benchmarks and overall ERP II objectives.
- Reporting: Ensure preparation and delivery of comprehensive Consortium narrative and financial reports in coordination with Consortium partners, and in line with ECHO requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all EiE activities adhere to ECHO’s policies, humanitarian standards, and local regulations as well as FCA policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education, Humanitarian Assistance, International Development, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in humanitarian work, project management, partnership building, and stakeholder engagement especially humanitarian context.
- Experience with EU/ECHO or similar donors and in managing multi-partner projects.
- Knowledge of the Ugandan education landscape, including policies, challenges, and opportunities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Experience working in a consortium or collaborative setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
