Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an International independent medical humanitarian Organization that delivers aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, and exclusion from health care. MSF offers assistance to people based on need irrespective of race, religion, gender or Political affiliation.
MSF is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position below;
Position: INTERNSHIP POSITION WORKSHOP-AUTO-MECHANIC.
Duty station: Kampala-Kansanga-Kiwafu area.
Start of work: 2024
Main Learning areas/ Tasks include, but not limited to:
• Motor vehicle servicing with the supervision of a senior mechanics in all motor vehicles, Generators, and motor pumps.
• Spare parts management and special tools stores and in MSF spare parts catalogue.
• Workshop administration internal processes i.e., opening and closing job cards, filing etc.
• Auto electrical and on-board diagnostic systems (OBD) repairs of electronics in vehicles.
• Tyre management, fit mentation systems and wheel balancing.
• Health (First Aid), Safety (Use of PPEs), Environment and Waste Management.
• Vehicle inspections and reporting on defects and works process flow.
• General knowledge of the organization and motor vehicle industry.
• Computer skills and new invocation.
Experiences, Skills and Competencies Required:
Education:
• Final year in Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Auto motive engineering, seeking industrial attachment. (Evidence of school’s transcripts in the last exams will be mandatory).
Language:
• English + Local language (Luganda, etc…)
Experience:
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in a technical school specialized in Automotive engineering, essential driving licence for vehicles and computer literacy will be an added advantage.
Personal Qualities:
• Flexibility, mobility, disciplined, integrity, rigour, pro-activity, able to work with multi-disciplinary and multicultural people and will be available for 6 months maximum for the internship.
