Purpose of the Role:
The role provides technical leadership and guidance in strengthening adult education expertise in the FRC Uganda country program, acts as adult education advocate and supports partnership building, networking and fundraising efforts. In addition, the position holder leads Access to Adult Education -project.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical support to strengthen adult education expertise in country program (50%)
• Contribute to organisation’s strategic objective of being an expert adult education operator and provide vision on how to achieve this.
• Introduce appropriate adult education and learning approaches for all projects in the country program.
• Strengthen the development, creation and use of teaching and training aids, including digital.

Advocacy, partnership development and networking in formal and informal education (25%)
• Keep updated on current trends and developments in formal and informal education in relation to refugee context to ensure program objectives and project implementation stays relevant.
• Liaise and establish connections with formal education and adult education actors at national and international level to learn, form networks and strengthen co-operation.
• Advocate for FRC’s adult education work within country and internationally.
• Support project concept note and proposal development.

Project management and monitoring (25%)
• Lead and coordinate Access to Adult Education -project implementation to ensure targets and objectives are achieved.
• Provide support to team in planning, monitoring, analysis of progress and identify corrective actions.
• Support M & E to arrange surveys and evaluations, and lead in data interpretation to improve projects’ quality and effectiveness, and data utilisation for program development and fundraising.

Qualification:
University degree in adult and community education / adult learning / education and teaching.
At least 5 years’ relevant, progressive experience in adult education, training material design and development, or in formal education combined with strong emphasis on adults.
Knowledge and experience on project management, monitoring and evaluation.
Proven experience in networking and advocacy work.
