To build and grow internal and external relationships in order to help the business to grow revenues and increase profits. As well as leading sales and client-relationship management, the business development director will track new markets and trends, recommend new products and services, grow new strategic partnerships, write proposals, and helps guide the long-term objectives to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Driving increasing business revenue, identifying and developing new opportunities and building and expanding the presence of the company and its brands.
• Tracking new markets and emerging trends, recommending new products and services, proposes and developing new strategic partnerships
• Writing proposals and plans, and guiding long-term objectives to meet business needs and requirements
• Building and growing solid relationships with vendors, distributors and internal and external customers in order to bring new business
• opportunities to the organisation.
• Researching emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to satisfy customers’ needs.
• Identifying opportunities for the business to grow and increase profits.
• Finding potential partnership opportunities for the business with a view to expanding its reach and/or improving its processes.
• Presenting marketing opportunities to the business and helping to develop marketing strategies.
• Supporting the operations planning of an organisation to improve efficiency and increase profits.
• Presenting proposals regarding marketing opportunities and strategies.
• Working to stringent targets, the job holder will be required to adopt a professional and knowledgeable approach to each new business call.
• Planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets.
• Proactively selecting automation software and software platforms that best meet company needs.
• Managing and growing trade finance services, local and international banking relationships of the bank.
Skills and Qualifications:
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree such as business administration or marketing.
• A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities. This includes the ability to communicate with everyone in the business, including at board level.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to put to use when building relationships.
• Proven businesses acumen. Often this will need to be in the relevant industry.
• Highly developed negotiation skills.
• A high standard of tact and diplomacy.
• The ability to think and act creatively when developing plans and strategies.
• Proven track record of increasing revenues and profits through exceeding sales targets
• A strong analytical skills and experience of numeracy to make informed decision making.
• Proven organisational skills in a busy and challenging environment.
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in marketing and Business-related field.
