Finn Church Aid (FCA) is the largest international aid organization in Finland. FCA operates in 14 countries where the need is most dire. FCA-Uganda program has been operational in Uganda, working in humanitarian response and development. The national headquarters is based in Kampala, with additional 8 Sub-Offices located throughout the country, in the districts of Obongi, Adjumani, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Yumbe, Kikuube, Isingiro, Mityana and Arua.

 

Finn Church Aid (FCA) is one of the consortium partners for the Refugee and Host Community Youth Empowerment and Transformation Initiative (RETI) program in Uganda, led by Muni University and supported by the Mastercard Foundation. The program aims to address unemployment challenges faced by young people aged 15 – 35 years in 15 refugee hosting districts in Uganda, particularly focusing on young women.

FCA plans to hire Instructors as Consultants to support the delivery of vocational training in various trades. The consultants will be responsible for conducting engaging lessons, developing course materials, and providing practical training to young people in the districts of Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Adjumani and Yumbe. As such, FCA invites interested, eligible and competent Individuals to apply in the following Trades.

  • Hair Dressing.
  • Handcraft.
  • Bakery.
  • Mechanics.
  • Tailoring.
  • Blacksmith & Weld.
  • Sandle-Making.
  • Carpentry.

 

The instructors will play a key role in the recruitment process of the targeted learners, ensuring the selection of suitable candidates through established procedures. The instructors will meticulously prepare instructional materials, including schemes of work and lesson notes, and employ appropriate teaching aids to facilitate effective learning. Continuous assessment and evaluation will be conducted, identifying gaps in both practical and written sessions. Moreover, the instructor will offer regular counselling and guidance to trainees, organize field placements for work-based learning, and establish connections with potential private sector partners. Upholding the rights of the trainees and maintaining discipline are paramount, and a strategic remedial training plan will be developed for those requiring additional support. The instructors’ responsibilities extend to creating a conducive learning environment, conducting follow-ups at work-based learning centres, participating in production and marketing activities, and preparing examination materials, culminating in the submission of monthly training reports for approval.
