Job Summary: As an accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing financial processes within our cutting-edge Fintech company. Your expertise in planning, budget management, reconciliation and reporting will be critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making. This position requires a strong foundation in finance, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced Fintech environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Reconciliation Management:
- Oversee the reconciliation process for various financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and implement reconciliation best practices to streamline processes and minimize errors.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly, collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to gather input and aligning financial plans with company objectives.
- Monitor budget performance against actual results, providing insightful analysis and variance explanations.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models to support strategic financial planning.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, focusing on reconciled and budgeted figures.
- Ensure financial reports comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate financial performance to senior management with clear insights and recommendations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements within the reconciliation and budgeting functions.
- Implement and oversee the adoption of relevant financial tools and technologies.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals with a focus on reconciliation and budgeting.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
- Work closely with operations, technology, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of financial processes.
- Provide financial insights to support cross-functional decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about financial regulations impacting reconciliation and budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and collaborate with compliance teams as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
- Three years of progressive experience in finance roles with a focus on reconciliation and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and reconciliation best practices.
- Proficient in financial software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective leadership and communication abilities.
