JOB OVERVIEW:
The Retail Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage shop staff effectively.
KEY DUTIES:
• Drive and meet sales targets by aggressively building brand awareness, sales drive, and great customer experience.
• Delivers an excellent customer experience at all times, ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded.
• Meets sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to shop staff.
• Processes customer payments using the shop’s Point of Sale (POS) system. Handles cash register functions and transactions including: sales, correct pricing, and receipting to customers.
• Enforces the use of proper icing techniques throughout the process to maintain the freshness of the fish
• Develops and maintains knowledge of fish products, including new lines and offers, and to share that knowledge with customers and other colleagues in a confident manner.
• Supervises proper handling of fish throughout processing activities to avoid product damage.
• Responsible for all banking functions related to the shop including making bank deposits, filling change requirements.
• Supervises and motivates the shop team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
• Contributes business strategies to attract new customers, expand shop traffic, and enhance profitability.
• Ensures compliance with the quality, housekeeping, and food safety management systems
• Develops productive and long-term relationships with customers.
• Performs administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of all shop operations, including the timely submission of all personnel paperwork, preparing and submitting reports.
• Performs quality assurance of fish on a regular basis and ensure proper handling, storage, processing and packing.
• Ensures customer complaints are followed up and that satisfactory solutions are obtained for both the customer and Yalelo.
• Proactively develops and improves processes to service customers.
• Ensures strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Builds sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication with customers
• Bears responsibility for the safe-keeping of company assets.
• Prepares detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements, and sales.
• Ensures inventory levels are maintained and places new orders.
• Ensures that the highest standards of health and safety are considered as a priority throughout all operations in the shop.
• Ensures the shop meets compliance standards with statutory regulations and government policies.
• Conducts regular inspection of premises and equipment like fridges, POS, Generators to ensure safety and functionality.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
8. Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration or related discipline
9. A minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a retail environment.
10. Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
11. Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Computer literacy and competence in MS office
14. Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
15. Must be willing and able to meet tight deadlines and work long hours when required.
16. Be able to work in a multicultural environment.
