Accounts Receivables Accountant Yalelo Uganda

Job Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for the management of the accounts receivables position, thereby ensuring accounts receivables are always reflected, complete and accurate. The incumbent will be in direct contact with the customers to ensure timely payment and reconciliations of the Yalelo (U) Limited third-party credit accounts. Together with the Yalelo Kenya Accounts Assistant, the incumbent also makes sure that the AR/AP position between of Yalelo (U) Limited and Yalelo (K) Limited are reconciled on a weekly basis. The incumbent is also the business partner for Sales & Marketing Division, to assist in expense reports management & reconciliations, budgeting, ad hoc analyses and support.

Key Duties:
1. Ensure 100% accurate, complete AR position.
2. Process and issue invoices upon confirmation of order fulfilment, liaise with the distribution team for order fulfilment confirmations.
3. Weekly accounts receivable customer statement reconciliation with key customers.
Ensure target DSO is met; issue customer statements to credit customers, follow up on collections when accounts are due for payment (i.e. apply dunning process).
Ensure that all new customers are onboarded according to policy (i.e. customer due diligence requirement).
6. Responsible for accurate and complete intercompany accounts payable and accounts receivable and following weekly reconciliations.
7. Month end close: 1) All AR transactions completed, and AR module closed off 2) System closed, data posted and reconciled to TB. Provision adjusted 3) ensure proper recording of all commissions for Glovo, MOMO, Flexipay and other direct discounted sales. 4) Conduct reconciliation of Sales to Revenues from all retail shops.
8. Lead monthly channel margin analysis.
9. Assist in annual budget and midyear LE for Sales & Marketing division.
10. Approve Sales & Marketing expense reports mapping/routing <$1,000.
11. Assist in developing and monitoring Sales & Marketing KPIs providing the means to measure firm-wide financial progress.
12. Business partner for Sales & Marketing Division.

Required Technical Skills, Training & Experience
• Bachelors’ Degree in either Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or a related field
• CPA level 3 is a n added advantage.
• 2 – 4 years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure with tight deadlines.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
