The Land and Social Intern at EACOP will be instrumental in supporting the organization’s initiatives related to land acquisition, resettlement, and community engagement. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about responsible project development and social impact.
Responsibilities:
Land Acquisition and Title Research:
• Assist in researching and analyzing land titles and ownership to facilitate the acquisition process.
• Support the documentation of land-related information and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Community Engagement:
• Work closely with community leaders and members to understand their perspectives, concerns, and expectations.
• Assist in organizing community meetings and events to foster open communication and address community needs.
Resettlement Planning:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of resettlement plans, ensuring they align with regulatory standards and community well-being.
• Assist in the identification and documentation of affected households and individuals.
Social Impact Assessment:
• Participate in the assessment of the social impacts of the project on local communities.
• Collaborate with external consultants and internal teams to gather data and insights for impact assessments.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of land acquisition, community engagements, and resettlement activities.
• Prepare reports summarizing key findings, challenges, and progress in land and social aspects of the project.
Stakeholder Coordination:
• Collaborate with government agencies, PAPS, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders involved in land and social aspects.
• Facilitate coordination meetings and information sharing.
Compliance Monitoring:
• Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with social and environmental standards.
• Contribute to the development of strategies to address non-compliance issues.
Key Requirements
• Currently pursuing relevant degree program in social sciences, anthropology, environmental studies, Engineers, Surveyors, Community Development Studies) from recognized University
• Must provide Introduction letter from university and copy of student I.D.
Must provide a partial transcript / testimonial showing current academic scores with a minimum of an upper-second degree.
• Must be available full-time for the duration of the internship period.
Must write and submit an internship application letter.

Context and environment
• The LSOC Intern will be based in the EACOP Office.
• The LSOC Intern will report to the LSC Manager EACOP.
• He/she will interact with Project teams and Construction Contractor teams on a continuous basis with the guidance of the LSOC Team.
• He/She is responsible for ensuring and maintaining good relationships between the EACOP and all its stakeholders and the local community.
