Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- With the support of the Medical Team Leader and the Medical Coordinator, create, review and adapt data collection tools according to the project indicators
- Implement data tools and collection, including in emergency responses
- With the support of the Medical Team Leader and the Medical Coordinator, coordinate the development, implementation and follow-up of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for documentation
- Participate in operational and strategic meetings defining projects and mission orientations. Participate in defining indicators and data to be collected at the field level and ensure that those data allow a proper monitoring of priorities/objectives defined for each activity and project
- Develop and implement data quality assurance methods to ensure good performance of the activities and reliability of the information, treating with respect and confidentiality all patient information
- Prepare and organize data quality training
- Provide technical support to the medical team and data entry staff in implementing routine data recording, collection and entry for the selected project indicators. This will be done through a combination of project visits and routine communication (via email and phone) with the medical team and data entry staff
- Provide technical support to establish monitoring tools for new activities as initiated in a project.
- Ensure updated data mapping tool
- On a monthly, quarterly or basis of request, implement detailed analysis of recorded data for key indicators for projects in order to facilitate the definition, redefinition or reorientation of project activities. This will also include analysis of MoH data where available.
- Following the analysis, identify and report any new and interesting indicators for review with the medical team for potential follow-up where relevant
- Collaborate with medical team leader in reviewing templates and producing quarterly and annual medical activity reports
- Participate in meetings and /or trainings as requested and scheduled
- Perform additional activities, including detachment to emergency response locations whenever needed and as requested by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in Statistics / Population Studies /Epidemiology or Public Health Extensive training in statistics
- Desirable working experience with MSF or other NGOs
- Two years of experience in Data Management
- Previous experience in MH, HIV information management is an asset
- Previous experience in data tools such as Epi, DHIS2, PRAXIS, REDCAP, EMS is an advantage
- Knowledge: Essential Computer literacy ( Word, Excel & Internet) and statistical packages , STATA, SPSS, SAS
- Desirable knowledge of the parameters of the MoH or other similar context
- Languages: English essential, local languages desirable
