Qualifications & Experience:
• A PhD in either Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognised
University.
• The applicant must possess knowledge and research interests in any of the following areas, i.e., Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Data Visualization, High-
Performance Data Analytics; Security, Privacy, and Ethics in Data Science, and Natural Language Processing.
• Should have a Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field from a recognised University obtained after the year 2010.
• Must be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field.
• Must have University teaching experience at the rank of Lecturer for at least three (3) years. Special consideration will be made for applicants with equivalent work
experience in a research institution or equivalent work experience in the industry.
• Must have at least two current peer-reviewed journal publications in the area of academic expertise.
• Should demonstrate the skills and experience to supervise postgraduate students.
• Professional growth as evidenced through membership to a professional body, presentation at professional meetings and consultancies in one’s area of specialization
will be an added advantage.
• Should have strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a committed and practicing Christian.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• To lead departmental research labs, carry out research, and supervise postgraduate and undergraduate research students;
• To lead projects and write project proposals to attract research funds to the department;
• To teach courses allocated by the Head of Department, assessment of exams and other assignments, development of specialist teaching and learning material,
including short courses in the area of specialization and related disciplines;
• To contribute to the broader engagement of scholarly and professional communities including, reputation both internally and externally;
• To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum;
• To assist in the development of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance;
• To provide student support in pastoral roles, counseling, mentoring, and career guidance;
• To participate in the administration of the department’s programs of study and other activities as requested, including, building e-learning into the delivery of teaching
to students as appropriate;
• To contribute to departmental, faculty, and wide working groups or committees as required;
• Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
