About Stromme Foundation:

Strømme Foundation (SF) is a Norwegian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that works in 11 countries to facilitate humanitarian and development work for needy communities for greater equality and quality of life with dignity. SF does not directly implement such development activities but collaborates with and enables indigenous registered NGOs or CBOs to carry out such activities. The main areas of concentration are in the fields of Education, Livelihoods, and Building a strong civil society. The Regional Office of SF in Kampala is an extension of the Head Office in Norway and was set up to coordinate the work of the SF partner NGOs in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and South Sudan and provides necessary services, information, etc to its Head Office in Kristiansand, Norway.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The ICT Trainee will be working with and under the supervision of the ICT Coordinator and the main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Service Desk first-line support.
  • Installations of wired and/or wireless networks when needed as well as setting up office equipment like printers, video conference systems, and all the related network connection peripherals with guided assistance.
  • Assist in the deployment of Windows 11 and user computer setup.
  • ICT Documentation, Asset inventories, and User “How to” Procedures among others.
  • Follow up with ICT suppliers on products or services as delegated.
  • Generate Monthly reports on ICT activities.
  • Participate and contribute to the Weekly ICT meetings.
  • Meeting and conferencing support.

 

Note: You will be required to support Stromme Foundation Globally on the service desk at some point as the first line with an escalation by assignment to Colleagues in ICT where you cannot.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Information and Communications Technology, Computer Science, or the equivalent.
  • Experience: Fresh University/Institution Graduate/No Experience.
  • Competences/ Skills: Team worker, Proactive, Flexible, willing to learn, Good written and Verbal communication skills, able to work with multicultural people, and know the basics of how to work with computers.
  • Language: English is mandatory.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4.30 pm.

 

Terms of payment: This opportunity attracts a monthly stipend and not a salary.
