This role is responsible for preparing and coordinating monthly financial close data, preliminary preparation of month end and quarter end reports, support financial controls and key support in the statutory audit process among others.
This role supervises the Reporting analyst and together they also support business operations in understanding their financial information and identifying opportunities to maximize financial performance, and statutory / regulatory reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
• Preliminary preparation of month end and quarter end reports
• Preparation of audit schedules
• Ensure an accurate and efficient financial monthly close.
• Support the design and adoption of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Perform value added operational analysis, primarily budget / forecast variance analysis.
• Prepare standard monthly / quarterly financial reports for local, regional and corporate management.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial review calls.
• Support internal and external auditors with requirements as requested.
• Deliver on time and accurate statutory reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage the performance of direct reports as well as contractors and sub- contractors
• Proactively identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with Human Resources
• Recruit, develop and retain staff, partnering with Sr. Management and Human Resources. This includes on-boarding and orientation for new hires.
• Provide disciplined performance management for team.
• Define and communicate annual goals, perform formal and informal performance reviews, and ensure changes and updates are communicated in a timely and professional manner.
• Create strong collaborative team environment.
Environment
• Approximately 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 5-10% travel will be required in support of the positions responsibilities.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 12kgs.

Person Specification
Education, Training, Skills & Experience Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of IFRS
• Skilled in Excel
• Oracle experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
• Good oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly across the whole organization
• Excellent follow up skills
• The incumbent must be flexible as there may be occasions that require working beyond the standard working week to ensure the positions expectations and responsibilities are met.
Education and Experience
• Degree in Finance and Accounting or in a related field preferred
• ACCA accreditation required
• Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience
