Rukundo Preparatory School (RPS) is the flagship program for Rukundo International, providing ECD and Primary education to over 200 children and works as a home base for our community centre in Kyanamira. RPS aims to nurture world-changers through the power of high-quality education, love in action, and humble service.
Job Summary: RI seeks a qualified School Administrator to facilitate smooth and stable implementation of RPS programs, effective communication, timely reporting, and to ensure alignment of RPS activities with overall RI objectives and Mission. The RPS Administrator will manage all logistics, planning and reporting processes for the school. As part of the teaching team, you will also be expected to teach in the classroom and complete all other teacher activities for assigned class(es). The Administrator will also provide additional support to the RPS Head Teacher, create a positive and appropriate learning environment through proper management of RPS, and bridge all communication, planning, and reporting gaps with RI community development Programs. The Administrator will manage RPS budgets, handle all RPS logistics, prepare program reports, manage RPS databases, and act as a point of contact for RI’s community development programs and special projects.
This role will report to the RI Uganda Deputy Executive Director with dotted lines to the RPS Head teacher for deliverables under teaching duties. As part of the RI Uganda’s Management team, the RPS School Administrator will be expected to act as a role model for the organization’s positive culture, promoting the Mission and living the values of RI on a daily basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties:
- Develop and coordinate annual, quarterly and monthly work plans for RPS to ensure timely completion of activities and high-quality deliverables consistent with the work plan.
- Develop and manage RPS budgets to make sure all expenses are within budget, including preparing financial requisitions, purchase requests for supplies, and preparing monthly financial and inventory reports.
- Continuously update and ensure compliance of RPS staff with RI & RPS policies.
- Manage the RPS database by providing enrolment data for new learners and working with RI’s Executive Assist to continuously update data for existing learners.
- Manage school performance data. This includes, but is not limited to, classroom observations, holiday package returns, daily learner attendance data, examinations results, etc to ensure high-quality data is collected and submitted in time.
- Prepare monthly Program reports for RPS, including provision of content (photographs, videos, success stories, etc.) for U.S-based partnerships and for use in newsletters, media releases, e-news, and fundraising campaigns.
- Respond and fulfil RPS staff requests for supplies and any other logistics.
- Supervise the RPS children’s meals to make sure they are served according to the menu and on time.
- Participate in procurement activities and recommend ways to optimise costs of running RPS, including inventory sourcing, and storage and use, on an ongoing basis.
- Conduct lessons for the assigned class(es) and complete all other related activities consistent with providing a high-quality education to our learners.
- Participate in all CPD training provided to the teaching staff at RPS.
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education or in any other related field.
- Must be a qualified Primary teacher.
- A suitable candidate must have experience working as a Primary school teacher as well as successful experience as a Deputy Head teacher, Director of Studies or Senior Manager/Administrator of a school.
