About US:

The Insurance Training College (ITC) of Uganda was established in 1964 as the training arm of Uganda’s Insurance sector. The College is recognized under the Insurance (amendment) Act 2011, which came into force in 2011 as the Insurance Institute of Uganda (IIU) and by the Insurance Act 2017 which transformed the Institute into the Insurance Training College of Uganda, a public tertiary institution.  ITC is licensed by National Council for Higher Education (NHCE) and all its Programmes are accredited and recognized by National Council of Higher Education (NCHE).

 

Job Summary:   The Graduate Trainee (GT) is needed to oversee the operations and administration of an online platform that facilitates trade between clients and insurance service providers. The trainee will play a pivotal role in ensuring the platform’s smooth functioning. maintaining quality standards, and fostering a positive user experience for insurance companies, SACCOS, and other FSPs and their customers who are the end users of the platform. He/she will also be charged with collecting data on the business transactions that are being made with the aim of using this data to improve service provision, efficiency, and performance of the investment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Platform Oversight:

  • Monitor the platform’s daily operations, ensuring smooth functionality, resolving technical issues, and coordinating with the technical team for prompt resolution.

User Support:

  • Provide excellent customer support to both insurance and SACCO staff, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Respond to user feedback and concerns promptly, maintaining high user satisfaction.
  • Onboard new Insurance companies, SACCOS, and other entities incorporated onto the platform verifying their information and guiding them through registration.
  • Ensure participating insurers and SACCO staff comply with platform guidelines and quality standards.
  • Monitor SACCO’s performance and take necessary actions to address any violations or discrepancies.
  • Monitor customer claims and complaints and follow up with both insurance and SACCO staff to ensure they are resolved promptly

Content Management:

  • Review and approve product listings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with platform policies.
  • Manage product categorization, ensuring products are appropriately tagged and organized for easy user navigation.

Communication:

  • Maintain effective communication with sellers, buyers, and other stakeholders through various channels, including emails, chat, and notifications.

Platform Enhancement:

  • Collaborate with the development team to identify opportunities for platform improvement and user experience enhancements. -Provide suggestions for new features, functionalities, and user interface improvements.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular audits of listings, profiles, and transactions to ensure adherence to platform standards and policies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) attained NOT more than 2 years ago.
  • Proven experience in platform administration, e-commerce, or similar roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach to handling inquiries and issues.
  • & Familiarity with digital marketplace platforms, e-commerce practices, and online transaction processes.
  • Attention to detail and an organized approach to managing platform content and user interactions Adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to multitask effectively. Technical proficiency in using digital communication tools and software applications
