Job Summary: Plan International Uganda communication approach is designed to facilitate effective and strategic internal and external communications. This approach is deliberately designed to meet the ambitions of the both the global strategy: All girls standing strong and the Uganda Country Strategy (2023-2027). Plan International Uganda’s Influencing Strategy is guided by the Global Strategy (All Girls Standing Strong), Global Advocacy Strategy (GLAS), the Pan African Advocacy Strategy (PAAS), and PIU Country Strategy. The strategy employs several integrated influencing approaches including targeted policy advocacy, strategic communications and campaigns, and partnership. Given the above background and the scope of the related work, the department is seeking for a graduate intern to support the delivery of the influencing agenda effectively.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
Must have acquired at least a Second-Class upper degree
Should have graduated university between 2021 and 2023
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Capable to taking professional photography
Excellent videography including editing
Professional graphic designing in Illustrator, Indesign, photoshop or Canva
Knowledgeable and able to execute social media marketing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
Excellent writing skills for internal and external audiences
Ability to work with media
Excellent public relations
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to work in a Team Setting
Openness to learning
A Positive attitude
