The bank offers a variety of Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.

 

Job Summary:  The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the proper monitoring & maintenance of FTB’s computer systems, hardware & communications infrastructure, design, install, administer & optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite, remote and desk-side support to end-users on all infrastructure related ICT issues.
  • Proper maintenance of user workstations (file, print, e-mail) infrastructure, their upgrades, capacity planning and update the IT assets inventory regularly.
  • Provide technical specifications for user workstations and configure all new workstations.
  • Effectively track movement of hardware using equipment movement forms and tools.
  • Evaluate user hardware needs and provide support to users on peripherals, printer configuration, disk space optimization and management
  • Monitor file servers for viruses, and keep server and client anti-virus signatures current.
  • Manage and monitor configuration, performance, and activity of all ICT computers and peripherals on the network ensuring that they meet 100% planned uptime.
  • Monitors incident details, including the configuration items affected to protect systems from unwarranted configuration changes.
  • Implementing the auditing policy in respect to ICT equipment and peripherals.
  • Install and configure new hardware, software releases, system upgrades; evaluate and install patches.
  • Implement best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user workstation hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of hardware equipment and operating systems, explain any performance deviations and provide recommendations for the redress of any difficulties.
  • Undertake any other assignments related to information systems technology as may be assigned by supervisors from time to time
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by supervisors

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, Information Technology or any related field.
  • ICT Certification in any related IT field such as HPE, VMware, Microsoft, NetApp, EMC, Cisco, etc. is desirable
  • One year of working experience in a busy ICT environment, providing support in end-user compute, storage and networking solutions
  • Broad understanding of computer systems, operating systems and troubleshooting methodology
  • Good analytical, diagnostic, communication and reporting skills.
  • Have self-drive and initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to make occasional presentations
  • Good People management skills and ability to monitor third party contractors
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, pro-activeness, self-drive, initiative
  • Person of integrity.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work long hours including evenings and weekends as needed to troubleshoot issues, perform upgrades and be part of an on-call support team
