About UNICEF Project:
KCCA with the support from UNICEF is implementing together with UYDEL a social protection programme for adolescent girls in the city through the adolescent girls’ cash plus mentoring and empowerment programme to improve their social and economic inclusion, and protection.
Job Summary: UYDEL is searching for Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support in data collection, analysis and tracking of project performance for the out of school adolescent girls in 5 divisions of Kampala.
The incumbent will be responsible for data collection, analysis and tracking project performance as well as reporting for several projects. He / She will also ensure quality implementation throughout the project cycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to interpret and analysis Data
- Prepares M&E quarterly progress reports on the Projects’ monitoring, evaluation & research initiatives for internal and external use;
- Capacity building initiatives
- Identify and participate in operational research and mapping related to the projects.
- Participate in the design, data collection and analysis of routine data. Thus, responsible for data collection and analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.
- Take lead in the development and design of all researches within the projects working closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director/ Prog. Coordinator and technical specialists’ team from Donor funded project.
- Review and provide feedback to reports by partners/donors.
- Participate in the development of the evaluation design, tools and procedures for the project.
- Facilitate in the utilization of data for decision making and documentation of best practices / lessons learnt.
- Under take regular visits to the fields to support projects implementation of monitoring and evaluation to check the quality of data produced and identify where adaptions are needed.
- Identify opportunities for operational research during projects implementation.
- In accordance with donor requirements create or maintain procedures for capturing and publishing monthly, quarterly and annual projects technical reports.
- Perform any other relevant job tasks and duties as required by protocol.
- Work closely with the present team and other partners including KCCA, UNICEF and TMF.
- Monitor program activities on the monthly basis including relations of both Lead and Peer mentors and out of school girls’ mentees
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Population and Demography, Statistics, Development, Social Sciences, Monitoring and Evaluation or any other relevant field;
- Possess an additional Post graduate training in M&E or project planning and management would be an added advantage;
- Two years of experience in design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and research initiatives for integrated HIV/SRHR and livelihood programs for vulnerable populations.
- Working knowledge of environment and current effective practice on monitoring, evaluation and research approaches;
- Monitoring and evaluation of rights-based programmes including use of participatory approaches, case studies and rights-based programming;
- Possess excellent computer literacy skills in Excel, Epi Info/ data, MS Access, SPSS and other statistical packages.
- Experience in developing and coordinating data collection, processing and analysis system.
- Excellent communication skills, both in written English and in face-to-face presentations
- Excellent communication skills in Luganda
- Excellent skills in report writing and project documentation; and
- Prior experience in using data management systems;
