To coordinate and provide effective accounting and financial expertise in accordance with the Internationally Recognized Financial Reporting Practices (IFRS), to enable the business meet its annual corporate goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reconcile UBL accounts for beer, spirits and empties and ensure all payments and returnable are captured on our statements.
• Review, monitor & maintain internal control systems/procedures with accounting policy by ensuring dual control, segregation of duties, verification of authenticity of transactions, etc.
• Prepare annual budget & ensure that it is adhered to throughout the year.
• Prepare monthly cash flow projections.
• Participate in recruitment, training, career growth & conducting performance appraisals of subordinate staff.
• Sanction staff entitlements, liabilities & vouchers/payments.
• Conduct month end stock taking activities, compilation & submission of stock take & capital reports.
• Prepare various accounting records/GL supporting schedules & submit to the Managing Director by the 5th day of the following month.
• Prepare the payroll, WHT, NSSF and Local Service Tax and submit statutory returns as per requirements.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ascertain accuracy of data in the IT system and genuineness of transactions. This includes bank reconciliation and maintaining good working relationships with the company bankers.
• Deputize the Managing Director & ensure continuity of operations during the Managing Director’s absence.
• Ensure stock card /ledger is duly updated by the Stock Controller in the main warehouse.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration option Accounting, Commerce, and Finance & Accounting.
• Candidates should possess 2 principle passes at A’ Level and credit passes in English and Mathematics at O’ Level.
• Candidates with CPA will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with fast moving products
• Must be a person of high level of integrity with no record of fraud.
