Job Title: Cargo Finance Officer

About US:
Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise cargo revenue functions over the company network ensuring timely payments.
- Prepare revenue budgets and forecasts.
- Support the strategic planning, costing, and project management functions.
- Financial planning and analysis.
- Establish and recommend operating procedures.
- Supervise timely and accurate recording and reporting of cargo revenue.
- Develop and oversee the maintenance of revenue budget monitoring systems.
- Oversee the receipt of cargo sales and participate in the development of cargo schedules.
- Oversee the implementation of the cargo revenue accounting system.
- Management of monthly reconciliation to ensure proper accounting in the system and make necessary rectifications.
- Support cargo management by providing relevant data to support business cases.
- Review all Cargo Revenue Accounting entries for accuracy prior to posting in the Financial Accounting Module.
- Performance of audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policy, and governing regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance of cargo revenue financials as per IAS, IFRS, and GAAP.
- Documentation of exercises undertaken to test internal controls.
- Establish the cargo department objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate team objectives, plans, procedures, and practices and make appropriate changes where necessary.
- Participate in Agreement negotiations with cargo operations stakeholders.
- Facilitate cargo staff training.
- Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the line Manager and Director.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Uganda Airlines Cargo Finance Officer job must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification is an added advantage, minimum level 3 for CPA/ACCA.
- Proven work experience of not less than 5 (five) years in Finance or Audit.
- Sound knowledge of Airfreight financial and accounting procedures is an added advantage.
- Sound Accounting Knowledge Adequate ERP skills (Oracle / SAP/SUN)
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong ethics, Resilient with the ability to work both as a team and individually.
