The Human Resource Director is responsible for providing overall and co-ordination of the Human Resource function of the School. The Director oversees the Directorate of Human Resources and initiates, develops and implements Human Resource systems and processes in line with the Human Resources policy and consistent with the School’s Strategic plan
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Initiate, develop, implement and review human resource policies and practices in line with School’s strategic plan
• Act as a resource to management of HR in the areas of job design, organizational structures and workload distribution
• Develop and monitor HRD annual plan in line with the Human Resources Policies
• Develop work targets for the Human Resource Directorate in line with the Human Resource Policies:
• Facilitate the update of HR records, information and knowledge
• Mentor and coach Human Resources staff of the School and coordinate training and capacity building activities
• Analyze, develop and recommend sound plans, programs and procedures, in the areas of Human Resource planning compensation, employee recognition and other matters related to employee relations
• Formulate, implement and monitor organizational development and change management systems and strategies in line with the School Strategic plan
• Introduce and implement competence based Human Resource Management systems
• Design and implement performance Management and control system
• Coordinate and implement the payroll as well as employee wellness programs for staff.
• Establish measure to ensure consistency in various HR practices as it relates to recruitment, compensation, job descriptions, job profiles including demand analysis and specifications organizational structure among other HR related issues
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the Principal

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
• An Honours Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Institution.
• A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management Organizational and Industrial Psychology. Management and
• Organizational Development or MBA (Human Resource option).
OR
• A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or Education Management Planning and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognized institution
• A professional certification in HR related disciplines such as CIPD. CHRA is an added advantage
• At least 10 years work experience, five (5) of which should be at Senior Managerial level in a reputable institution
• Must be an active member of the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU)
• Must be a citizen of Uganda aged between 35 and 55 years
• A certificate of tax compliance from the Uganda Revenue Authority
TENURE OF APPOINTMENT:
• A five (5) year contract, renewable once, subject to good performance.
