GOAL is currently seeking to hire a Partnership Officer to the Global Partnerships Centre team. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join an extremely dynamic International NGO and to use your skills in partnership, compliance and systems approaches. If you are familiar with working within the international development aid sector and have a strong background in partnership management, then this role is perfect for you!

 

Job Summary:  The Partnership Officer reports directly to the Partnerships Coordinator. They will provide administrative and project management support to the Centre’s team in delivering the objectives of the Centre to make GOAL’s partner identification, on-boarding and on-granting processes more efficient and effective. Overall, the role will contribute to ensuring partners understanding and use of accountability frameworks including maintaining compliance with donor regulations and requirements.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the role will be:

Monitoring, documentation and reporting

  • Maintain a database for tracking and monitoring of the number, typology and location of GOAL’s partners and the level and type of on-granting provided to them.
  • Maintain and manage a database for all documentation for the Global Partnerships Centre and management of GOAL’s partners.
  • Provide monthly report to the Global Partnerships Centre, Director – based on your monthly work plan.

Support the capacity strengthening partner organization 

  • Support due diligence assessments, risk analysis and audits for partner organisations.
  • Support the on-boarding process of GOAL partner organisations.
  • Support the development and implementation of GOAL’s Partnership Manual and other appropriate partnership tools
  • Support the training of partner organisations.
  • Support performance management reviews of GOAL’s partner organisations.

Other tasks as mutually agreed with supervisor

  • Support the administration of the Global Partnerships Centre’s ‘Organizational Development Fund.
  • Ensuring agreed actions are followed up and closed within agreed time frame.
  • Providing partner external auditors with any information required from GOAL in relation to partners.
  • Contribute to establishing a team culture grounded in collaboration, openness, and learning.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential

 

  • A university degree in business and/or accounting with a recognised institution
  • ACCA/CPA at least level 2.
  • Minimum years (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in collaborating and working with both private and public sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and training skills (in both spoken and written English.

 

Desirable

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with a range of organisations.
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Word, powerpoint and Excel).
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of time from base.

Established in 1977, GOAL is an international humanitarian agency, with a global team of 2,400 personnel, dedicated to alleviating the needs of the most vulnerable communities. Currently operating in 13 of the world’s most vulnerable countries, GOAL delivers a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes, ranging from humanitarian relief in disaster situations, to focusing on nutrition, food security, and building greater resilience and sustainable livelihoods.

 

General description of the country programme:

First operational in Uganda in 1979, the current GOAL Uganda country programme focuses on Health (including WASH, Health Accountability and Nutrition programming); and a market based systems approach to improving agricultural livelihoods and WASH. GOAL Uganda mainstreams gender, child protection, social behaviour change and resilience strategies across all programming. GOAL works on a district focused approach and uses a mixture of direct implementation and partnerships with national and international civil society organizations, local government, the private sector and communities to give effect to our mission.

 

GOAL Uganda has a skilled team of approximately 120 personnel. GOAL is currently operational in the North, South, East and West of Uganda with six established offices in Kampala, Lira, Bugiri, Fortportal, Moroto, Hoima, Kaabong and Agago Districts.
