To provide leadership in developing and executing equities business strategy for both local and international clientele. To achieve this, the individual will lead product and market development whilst administratively overseeing the day to day operations of the business.
• Strategy – Understand overall SBG strategy and formulate business development strategy for the relevant market segments in the Ugandan market in order to meet corporate goals and grow Brand visibility.
• Lead efforts in developing current and future strategic partnership relations both onshore and offshore including the IB DCM Teams across the Group.
• Provide oversight in developing and maintaining up-to-date Operational systems, MIS and Data Strategy.
• Execution – Business development through new client acquisition, building new relationships and increasing the depth of both existing relationships and product suite. Drive collaborative efforts across the rest of SB group to maximise cross/upsell opportunities
• Act in back up capacity in execution of the Trader role.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews and provide periodic business performance reports to the Group Leadership teams including the Board.
• Monitor, benchmark and continuously improve Trading and Sales processes and procedures.
• People Leadership – Build a team of competent, talented and motivated individuals for the business. People performance management.
• Manage all regulatory engagement to ensure the business maintains functional and collaborative regulatory relationships.
• Provide leadership in market development initiatives within the Equities Brokerage Industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
• Type of Qualification: First Degree, Bachelors degree in business related fields or any other relevant/ related field of study.
• Post Graduate Degree: Business Related Qualification
• Post Graduate Degree : Professional Financial Markets Certification
• Mandatory Certification: CISI certificate
Experience Required
• 1-2 years: Product and market knowledge across the Equities business in country and regionally
• 3-4 years: Seasoned sales experience within an Equities business, selling across cash equities and equity derivatives, with specialisation in at least one client sector preferred. This includes an understanding of the risk and regulatory environment. Experience planning for self and team in line with defined objectives and operational plans to achieve business targets.
• 5-10 years: Seasoned experience in client relationship management with a demonstrated track record applying judgement, best practice and knowledge of internal or external business environment to solve escalated problems which may have some degree of complexity as well as to improve processes. Demonstration of advanced communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style based on the target audience.
• A good understanding of the Regulatory landscape across the East Africa region.
