The Danish Embassy seeks to recruit Programme Advisors to help drive our work on Accountability, Civic Engagement and Rights. If you have experience in the administration of development cooperation, development cooperation programming and within civil society, we would like to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Programme implementation
• Oversee the strategy, partner implementation and administration of projects including results frameworks, finance, and reporting.
• Provide technical advice and support to implementing partners so that they are equipped to contribute effectively towards the relevant thematic areas.
• Participate in coordination and dialogue with stakeholders incl. Development Partners, the Government of Uganda, and civil society.
Administration and grant management
• Support the drafting and review of grant agreements to ensure adherence to Danish government requirements.
• Support with grant management, i.e. ensuring all partner contracts are signed, filed and agreed obligations are implemented, including partner accountability, anti-corruption follow-up and budget management.
• Oversee timely reporting, including financial and narrative reporting.
• Monitoring of compliance and progress during the implementation of the grant.
Qualification & Experience
• Master’s degree in political science, social science, development studies, business, finance, economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in administration and management of grants, working for a donor or in a medium to large-sized donor-funded organisation.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in the area of accountability, civic engagement and human rights.
• Experience working with partner organisations in relation to grants management

Expected commencement date is 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is fixed-term, ending 31 December 2027, with a possibility for renewal.
