The job holder shall have the following responsibilities:
Operations:
• Conduct and regularly update a security risk and threat assessment to identify potential vulnerabilities in order to protect entity personnel, assets, information and reputation in Kampala.
• Ensure that new staff and expatriates given security induction and given the necessary security support during their first days in the company.
• Perform security audits and risk assessments for new residences before they can be approved to accommodate company staff and their families.
• Directly supervise the activities of the security contractors on the ground and ensure that the security procedures are adhered to.

• Implement, and maintain a physical protection system to deter, detect, and delay with the goal to deny and provide an appropriate response to malevolent acts and undesirable events. The physical protection system shall consist of a balanced multilayer protection based on organizational, human and technical security risk reduction measures.
• Ensure the implementation of the company security plan, site plan, standard operating procedures and security operations are effective and identifies.
• Coordinate the required logistics, Support the department in preparations and execution of the VVIP visits to the affiliate.
• Ensure that All security incidents must be reported in order to be traced and the appropriate corrective measures implemented
• Ensure a security alert and reporting procedure is implemented for the site.
• According to the threat level, ensure that the security plan and supporting procedures are prepared and implemented. The Site Security Plan shall be tested through periodic exercises and updated on a regular basis.
• Develop and review SOPs for the various sites in Kampala which are managed by TEPU security contractors.
• Ensure that the equipment and personnel supplied by the security contractors comply with the HSE standards of the company by conducting periodic audits.
• Organize any relevant security training and exercises.
• Prepare, consolidate and submit to the security manage a daily, weekly or monthly POB of the affiliate.
• Perform day/night security audits and patrols on various facilities of TEPU in Kampala.
Personnel:
• Schedule and Coordinate VPSHR trainings programs for security contractor personnel.
• Organize any relevant security training and exercises.
• Participate in the selection and vetting of the contractor’s security personnel that are intended to be deployed on TEPU facilities in Kampala.
Finance:
• Support the security department in terms of budgeting by providing projections of future deployments and activities.
• Ensure correct deployment of security personnel, timely and correct invoicing by security contractor.
Qualifications & required experience
Qualification:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in security (Private Security Company, Army or Police)
• In depth knowledge of Total E&P policy and regulations
• IT skills – Microsoft office
