Responsibilities
Over all Purpose

• The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all staff, budgets, formulating overall strategy, managing people, and establishing policies and operations of the company.
• The general manager will perform each essential function satisfactorily and promote the goals of the company while working towards reducing cost and improving profits

Key Responsibilities
30 % Sales and Marketing Responsibilities
• Managing key customers accounts
• Define monthly sales targets based on the company’s strategic plan and supervise.
• Boost sales and revenues by identifying and capitalizing on new sales areas or emerging trends.
• Lead and track the execution of the sales strategy as well as conducting sales forecasting, demand planning, and revenue management.
• Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
• Monitoring competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
• Oversee the contract process to ensure it delivers value to customers whilst ensuring competitive pricing to maximize value for the company.
• Developing and sustaining solid relationships with key clients that bring in the most income for the company.
• Developing a thorough understanding of key clients’ needs and requirements and preparing customized solutions.
• Negotiating contracts with key clients and meeting established deadlines for the fulfillment of each client’s long-term goals.
• Oversee all sales related activities: recruitment and training of sales team, procurement and supplier negotiations to ensure an attractive product portfolio, marketing campaigns, strategic sales initiatives and promotional partnerships with suppliers.

25% Operations Responsibilities
• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
• Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
• Provide advise and assistance to the Managing Director in the planning and implementation of modification to existing operations systems and the companys procedures.
• Maintain compliances with all local regulations as related to the companys operations.
• Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, IT and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
• Oversees the shipping and receiving functions.
• Determines labour needs to meet production goals.
• Assists with budget preparation for operations unit.
• Coordinates with marketing and sales department to determine and streamline the deliveries in order to meet the companys standards.
• Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operations manual and policies.
• Manage all activities related to inventory control, including reports and physical inventory count.

15%Human Resources Responsibilities
• Define the targets and goals for the HR department that are in line with the company’s overall business strategy.
• Create new and update existing HR policies and procedures and oversee their implementation while ensuring the integrity of internal HR data and compliance with the labor laws and regulations of uganda.
• Propose changes to the compensation and benefits policies according to current market trends and the company’s needs.
• Supervise day-to-day HR operations and measure performance against defined KPIs.
• Create and manage the budget of the HR department by monitoring expenditures.
• Manage the talent acquisition and recruitment processes, including on-boarding, creating learning and development initiatives, and off-boarding.

15% Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies to support the achievement of the objectives on increased profitability and market share for all the brands.
• Coaching and mentoring the employees to deliver their full potential for the company.
• Oversee effective management and control of the company’s financial expenditure for enhanced profitability.
• Implement effective systems that facilitate communication and employee participation to ensure employee retention and satisfaction.
• Manage and monitor the companys capacity in terms of human resources to ensure the operations are fully supported.
• Oversee geographic expansion where required.
• Evolve the companys structure in line with growth.

15%New product and Business development Responsibilities
• Extending market reach usually with the help of research, networking and the development of strategic partnerships.
• Increase profitability through efficiency and cost-cutting measures.
• Responsible for the development and launch of new products and assist the team in conducting periodic reviews and analyses of new products.
• Ensure that key performance indicators are met in order for the organization to meet its revenue and profit targets.
• Continually identify new business opportunities to ensure company growth and increased profitability.
• Coordinate and manage staff to ensure that company goals and objectives are met in the most effective and efficient way.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Strategic Management or a related field from a globally recognized university.

Details of experience
• At least 10 years’ experience with 5 years’ experience in senior management coordinating multidisciplinary teams, preferably within the printing and packaging industry or other relevant industry.
• Experience in planning and budgeting
