Qualifications And Experience
• A Master’s Degree in Public Administration from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• A good Bachelor’s degree (First class or upper second) in Social Work, Development Studies or Public Administration from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• Teaching experience desired, but not required.
• Promise of skill and effectiveness in teaching and advising of students.
• Must be a mature and practicing Christian.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
• To teach in areas allocated by the Head of Department in the semester.
• To carry out research, assessment of exams and other assignments, teaching, mentoring, supervision of undergraduate research, development of specialist teaching and learning provision, including short courses in the area of specialization and related disciplines.
• To contribute to the broader engagement of scholarly and professional communities including, reputation both internally and externally.
• To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
• To assist in the development of learning materials and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
• To provide student support in pastoral roles, counselling and career guidance to students.
• To participate in the administration of the department’s programs of study and other activities as requested including, building e-learning into the delivery of teaching to students as appropriate.
• To contribute to departmental, faculty and wide working groups or committees as required.
• Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
