Tutapona is a leading provider of mental health services for refugees and communities affected by war and conflict that has been operating in Uganda since 2008. Currently Tutapona Uganda has 40 personnel, field offices in 4 refugee settlements and a diverse range of funding partners.
Description Of Position:
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Country Director will be responsible for the programmatic and operational success of the Uganda country office of Tutapona. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing excellent leadership and oversight of the Tutapona Uganda teams
• Maintaining and strengthening the internal staff culture and ensuring ongoing consistency with Tutapona’s core values
• Ensuring program delivery is at the highest quality, involving effective staff training, monitoring and evaluation
• Providing careful oversight of the finance and operations departments, including adherence to established internal policies, as well as donor and partner requirements
• Ensuring that Tutapona remains compliant with relevant statutory requirements
• Maintaining and developing partner and stakeholder relationships to help mobilize sufficient resources for the sustainability of Tutapona Uganda operations
• Communicating clearly and consistently with Tutapona International staff globally
This position will be supported by an experienced Kampala-based Senior Leadership Team and the Tutapona International Office.
Position Requirements:
• MA level qualification in a related field
• 5+ years of senior leadership experience
• Proven experience negotiating win-win agreements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The capacity for frequent in-country travel
• A strong commitment to Tutapona’s mission, vision, and core values
