Job Summary: The Radio, Planning & Optimisation Engineer will support ZTE Uganda Limited in the oversight of cost-effective optimization of GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G technology with focus on the last mile delivery of all products and resources to the wireless cellular phone user. To ensure that the radio access network infrastructure delivers the highest quality of service to the end user in their allocated region. To handle and respond to end user complaints related to performance of the radio access network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that customer incidents related to radio network optimization are handled and responded to within contractually stipulated SLA
- Consolidation of capacity requirements for 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G from the business and site performance KPIs related to end user complaints.
- Consolidate regional coverage requirements for 2G/3G/LTE/5G from the incident management stakeholders for inclusion in the annual budget cycle.
- Follow up on site rollout projects for 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G to ensure that drive tests, configuration and performance checks are properly done to mitigate negative impact to end users.
- Play a supervisory role for major RAN projects such as modernization and site build in terms of the site performance.
- Generation of reports on 2G/3G/LTE/5G sites performance
- Participating in troubleshooting activities with other cross functional teams to resolve issues affecting end user experience
- Performing 2G/3G/LTE/5G drive test/walk test diagnostics using TEMS or similar software and generating reports thereof
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in any of these fields; Electrical Telecommunications Engineering
- Project management approach such as Prince II or PMBOK an added advantage
- In-depth knowledge of radio propagation principles and techniques
- Knowledge of the end- to -end basic telecommunications network

- One year of driving experience
