Vehicle Operators x8 Pinnacle Security Ltd (PSL)

Pinnacle Security Ltd (PSL) is 100% Ugandan owned company that is involved in the provision of bespoke security, risk management, firefighting and emergency response solutions in the East African region.

Pinnacle Security Ltd has been contracted by TotalEnergies E&P Uganda to provide Emergency and Fire-Fighting Services for the Tilenga Development Project operated by Total Energies E&P Uganda. The project is located in Buliisa and Nwoya districts.

PSL therefore hereby invites suitable Ugandans to fill the following positions on the Emergency Response and Fire Fighting Services on the Tilenga Project.

Vehicle operator (8 vacancies)

Qualifications and Experience
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
• Minimum 3 years’ working experience in this field
• Experience as firefighter is an added advantage
• Experience as fire engine pump operator is an added advantage
• Knowledge in electrical/mechanical field is an added advantage
• Knowledge of fire investigation or chemistry/science and combustion is an added advantage
• Short courses in occupational health, safety or any related field is an added advantage
• Defensive driving skills
• Valid driver’s license i.e. Class DH or CM or any equivalent
• Sufficient knowledge of traffic laws
• Sufficient knowledge of traffic laws
• Clean driving record
• Must be physically fit i.e. present a medical fitness certificate
• Selection process involves firefighter fitness and practical test (bleep test, upper and lower body resistance, swimming, ladder climb, SCBA and confined space)

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• A fire engine driver is first a fire firefighter.
• Assist employees and goods into the vehicles where necessary
• Responsible for the fire engine and equipment inside.
• Transport products, materials, and staff securely to areas where they are needed
• Ensure that vehicles are kept perfect and clean at all times by washing both the inside and outside parts of the vehicle.
• Carry out routine checks, maintenance, daily inspections and service on vehicles and ensure they are in good working condition
• Report any accidents, damage or strange situation
• Keep up a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours
• Pay tolls and other fundamental vehicle demands in liaison with the transport officer
• Maintain records through daily entries into a driving log which includes; mileage, trips and service made.
• Inspect the vehicle and equipment daily
• Standby and alert for quick response in case of any emergency.
• Determine the best and quickest route to use during emergency cases while exhibiting defensive driving skills
