Branch Operations Manager (BOM) Tropical Bank Limited

Main Purpose of the Job
To coordinate and ensure that branch operations are run smoothly in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures by all branch staff, maintain positive customer relationships and ensure excellence service is given at all service points to customers in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
• To deputize the Branch Manager administratively and assume overall responsibility for branch accounting operations and financial reporting at all times.
Carry out and enforce activities that enhance and promote good public relations and image by giving excellent and efficient services to customers in the branch by staff at all times.
• Verify postings and signatures on withdrawal vouchers/payments, authorize withdrawals & payments as per the Bank`s specified approved limits and promptly reconcile accounts
• Counter-sign and verify authenticity of all expense vouchers in the branch before forwarding them to the Branch Manager.
• Together with the Branch Manager ensure proper cash management within the branch and maintenance of sufficient cash reserves within approved limits for daily transactions.
Ensure Implementation and 100% adherence to all Tropical Bank policies, procedures, regulations and management circulars issued from time to time, by all Branch staff.
• Cross sell all Tropical Bank`s products and participate in new product marketing and sales to grow business.
• Ensure Branch Asset registers, Risk Registers, incident registers, Succession plans and KRIs are well maintained and up to date are maintained/reported as per stipulated timelines.
Support business growth through Non-funded income, good relationship management, excellent customer experience to boost liabilities, asset base and client retention.
• Ensure that KYC for Top 50 Depositors, Politically Exposed Persons, High-Risk Accounts and all other accounts is updated as per the regulatory requirement.
• Manage and monitor branch costs and ensure that they are within the approved budget.
• Build a motivated and high-performance team through managing staff performance, and development in line with the set key performance indicators, build capacity and align them to the bank strategy.
• Together with the Branch Manager assess and plan the security of the branch including ensuring guards are deployed and electronic devices activated and duly armed.
• Ensure timely closure of Compliance, Audit, Risk, BOU and Supervision findings as per stipulated timelines.
Ensure to accurately prepare and submit all Reports as per stipulated timelines.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

4. Number of customer complaints/Compliments
5. Branch expenses against approved budget
6. Staff Performance and leave Management

Key Competences & Qualifications
• A Business degree in finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management or any relevant field.
• Possession of a Certified banking qualification
• Risk/Controls Management,
• Critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Banking or similar environment of which 1 must be in an operations supervisory role.
• Must have an in-depth understanding of branch operational processes, product features & pricing.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
• The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.
• Ability to build functioning working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries.
Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model Tropical Bank’s values and leadership behaviours.
• Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
