Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support business growth at the branch level by championing and executing growth initiatives to achieve branch targets.
  • Ensure supervision of the branch operations processes including account opening, ATM cards distribution among others.
  • Review, monitor and maintain internal control systems / procedures in line with Pride’s policy and ensure adherence to Pride’s policies and procedures in the branch, facilitating audit exercises and conducting spot checks on cashiers.
  • Deputize the Branch Manager and ensure continuity of branch operations by ensuring proper staff management and performance.
  • Monitor and manage the branches’ liquidity by maintaining up-to-date liquidity projection reports and replenishing the branch’s ATMs.
  • File and code all vouchers and documents as per chart of accounts and ensure proper book keeping and primary accounting records
  • Ensuring proper classification of transactions as assets, liabilities, income and expenses, and must check on all entries entered in the system; to ascertain their genuineness, accuracy and who authorized them.
  • Reconciliation and maintenance of accurate schedules for all asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis as well as Bank Reconciliations.
  • Review the general ledger transactions and generate periodic reports in line with Pride’s guidelines through carrying out daily reconciliations to ensure accuracy, preparation of reports related to large cash transactions, submitting risk identification forms and suspicious transaction reports.
  • Oversee an effective and efficient customer service within the branch through quick resolution of customer or complaints;
  • Stock taking of assets and maintaining of an accurate fixed asset register;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors of Commerce Accounting / Finance, Statistics, BBA (Accounting / Finance) Economics, Microfinance, Development Economics, Quantitative Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, Financial Services, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management or in any other relevant / related field.
  • Two years of experience in a financial institution in a similar role (for external candidates or four years of working experience in Pride (for internal staff members.
  • She / he must not be more than 35 years.
