Social Management Program (SMP) Officer Aldelia Uganda

• Coordinate and support the design, planning, contacting, execution, performance management and monitoring, evaluation and reporting of Social Management Programs in line with regulatory requirements, project cycle management.
• Review and revise program scopes of work as appropriate to manage risks and negative impacts, and deliver positive impacts for project affected communities
• Analyze progress reports and monitor the schedule to help ensure the of Social Management Programs deliver target objectives and are delivered within schedule and budget.
• Identify and manage key stakeholders for each Social Management Plan.
• Facilitate coordination and synergies with other development actors pursuing related objectives in the region.
• Work with relevant cross functional departments and contractors to ensure incorporation in planning implementation and capture reporting to ensure necessary interventions.
• Coordinate and collaborate with related functions (SP – Social Package, SP- CSR, SP – SED, national content) in design and execution of programmes in the Project Area of Influence
• Work with Site Community Stakeholder engagement and Grievance to monitor implementation of activities.
• Ensure that all social management documents are well archived and properly tracked in the Social Management System (Borealis) for monitoring and future interventions with appropriate analysis and reports conducted on a monthly basis with necessary actions followed up swiftly and consistently.
• Ensure timely submission of relevant daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports by third party contractors to Company
• Document and disseminate good practices, and success stories.
• Responsible for internal and external communications regarding the social programs

Qualifications:
• Work with Site Community Stakeholder engagement and Grievance to monitor implementation of activities.

• Qualification: University Degree in Development Studies, Rural Development, Economics, Project management, Operations Management, Agriculture or equivalent relevant field.
• As relevant potential exposure to human rights, gender, education, health, water and sanitation, agriculture, natural resource management

Experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience working in multilateral development finance institutions financed or bilateral donor sponsored development projects.
• Preference for experience private sector sponsored projects deigning, planning and executing social investment strategies, social safeguards, in a developing country in line with international best practice such as IFC an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability experience in project management with responsibilities and/or familiarity with needs assessment; developing SOW; contractor management including staffing, budget management, performance monitoring and evaluation; familiarity with project logical frameworks, Gantt charts, and M&E frameworks focusing on inputs/outputs/results and outcomes/impacts.
• Ability to connect ESIA ESMP requirements; design, planning and execution and performance monitoring; compliance to standards; and onthe-ground deliverables.
• Ability to engage multilateral institutions and bilateral donors, nongovernment organisations and civil society organization active in the development space and familiarity with the scope to develop bilateral or multilateral partnerships either as PPP or sequential related projects.
• Demonstrated experience working in remote and challenging environments with rural communities, civil societies, Central and Local Governments.
• Highly developed organizational and man-management skills with proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain good relations with a wide range of stakeholders including authorities, local communities, industry, and international organizations.
• Good negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel, ppt)/ Good report writing and analytical skills.
