As part of National Content (NC) Commitments on the EACOP Project, Ekium Uganda Ltd (CONTRACTOR) as the main EITS contractor (Electrical Instrumentation and Telecommunications Systems) for the project is committed to offering comprehensive training, capacity building, and skills development programs to Ugandan Citizens to enhance their ability to positively contribute on the ongoing development activities in the Oil and Gas Sector.
Ekium Uganda Ltd, therefore, wishes to announce 1 apprenticeship scholarship for a Ugandan Telecom Engineer who is interested in taking up a 6 month apprenticeship program in France at its Head Office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the lead Engineers in tasks such as drawing/design, engineering analysis and tests
2. Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures
3. Be familiar with Project procedures and national & international standards
4. Check suppliers’ documents to ensure technical compliance with the Project requirements
5. Develop knowledge in the technology and interfaces with other technical groups
6. Use predetermined methods, sequences and setups to perform duties
7. Attend short and long-term training programs provided by Contractor (abroad and in-country) Assist the construction team during site works Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
We are looking for interns who have the following.
1. Ugandan Citizen holding an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably electrical, telecom or IT)
2. Membership of a related Professional Institution or body (UIPE)
3. At least 2 years’ relevant experience in the construction industry
4. Ability to work in environment in a multi-cultural business
5. Ability to travel abroad as and when required and possesses a valid passport
6. Good interpersonal and communications skills Competency in written/oral communication
7. Proficient in MS Office applications
8. Ability to interpret Local/National and Project design codes and standard
