Assessment and Design Assistant World Vision Uganda

World Vision Uganda (WVU) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy non-government organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in 43 districts and have 48 Area Programmes implementing projects in health & nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education and child protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with these beneficiaries. Due to expansion in scope of our programmes, we are now seeking for a qualified and passionate individual willing to share in our vision and join the team in the following role.

Purpose of the position:
The Assessment and Design Assistant will provide Excellently implement Assessment and Design processes and Child Sponsorship Operations standards in ways that meet WVU and WVI standards as well as cluster strategic priorities through effective supervision and working with Community Engagements and Development Assistants and Community Starter Group Member (Volunteers).

Key Outputs/Responsibilities.
1. Community Engagement, Assessment and Design Process
2. Support in data Collecting and community engagement on community perception on WV identity
Support in disseminating of information in a message box and engage
Support community in Developing a community communication plan
5. Support the Identification and engagement of key stakeholders at parish and sub-county level, Engaging local partners in the wellbeing activities.
6. Support and supervise the starter groups in their community engagement and exploration of the local context in the focus areas.
7. Support and supervise the assessment team on Identification of the most vulnerable in the focus areas and vulnerability assessment processes.
8. Mapping capacity and resources of the community and community in Reflection and planning for base level at each step of critical path for the next step.
Organize and support community summit at Parish level
10. Support the community in setting community vision and priorities with starter groups members.
11. Sponsorship Community engagement and RC Registration.
12. Sharing the vision and priorities with the wider community for validation.
13. Raising community awareness for sustainability and transition.
14. Support and engage the community in Celebrating the efforts and solidarity of critical path steps completions.
15. Manage Child Sponsorship communications and registration processes of RCs.
16. Communication with NO and SOs
17. Expeditiously follow up on all Sponsorship communications from NO and SOs.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor Degree in Humanities (Development studies, social sciences, SWASA, Economics, community development)
2. At least one year work experience
3. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
4. Knowledge of development work and ability to integrate it with sponsorship
Competences in managing business process in large organizations.
6. Experiences in conducting of assessment process and using assessment results to design a project and/or programme is an added advantage.
7. Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets
8. Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable
9. Proactive personality, self-driven and strongly motivated.
10. Spiritual maturity, interfaith knowledge and a biblical worldview.
11. Ability to articulate and model our Christian identity and mission in an inclusive way.
Demonstration of well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
13. Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work and passion for children.
14. Work experience in Community engagements, Assessment and qualitative data collections especially using FGD & KII methodology.
15. Knowledge of Local Language
16. Experience of data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing
17. Skills in community mobilization and collaboration
18. Skills in documentation
