Radiographers, also known as radiologic technologists, perform X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other forms of medical imaging to help diagnose illnesses and conditions. Radiographers are equipped with the technological skills to handle imaging equipment and the interpersonal skills necessary for As a healthcare facility which operate 24 hours a day, radiographers may work irregular hours, including nights and weekends. It’s a physically and mentally demanding job that requires extended periods of standing and working in sometimes fast-paced and high-stakes situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receive patients in the Radiology department.
2. Analyse patients’ request forms.
3. Process patients’ results and deliver them to their respective doctors on time.
4. Ensure effective management of radiology equipment in good working conditions as well as the infrastructure of the department. Also being able to report to the responsible person in case of any fault is detected.
5. Supervise adequate/ appropriate supply of utilities.
6. Advise our clients on costs per examination.
7. Ensure all clients are billed for the examination to be performed.
8. Ensure proper training, hands–on- support and mentoring for all the Radiology interns and new recruits or those failing to meet standards as well as appropriate HR orientation, and training.
9. Develop quality control and quality assurance system and participate in external quality assurance programs for Radiology.
10. Ensure standardization of quality and proper procedures are followed at all times with strict adherence to Radiology protocol and procedure manual.
11. Assist the Radiologist during special radiological procedures.
12. To perform all examinations including breast, scrotal and paediatric ultrasound scans WHEN CALLED UPON, AS THE SITUATION MAY DEMAND, within your technical expertise and in emergency situations.
13. Document and record all patients’ examinations while in your care.
14. Ensure working station and all areas are clean and operational; supervise the Radiographer nurse and inform cleaning staff delegated to.
15. Receive the hand over report from the previous shift and ensure full report is given to the next shift, IF ANY.
16. Report any challenges, failures and success met to the In- charge / HOD.
17. Any other assignments as may be given by either the in-charge/ HOD
EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE
1. A bachelor’s degree in radiography.
2. Valid License
3. At least 3 years’ experience as a radiographer.
