Job Summary: The gender support intern is a position that typically involves assisting with research, analysis, and program development related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support and guidance on gender mainstreaming in development programs and policies
- Building capacity of individuals, organizations and institutions to integrate a gender perspective in their work
- Raising awareness on the impact of gender-based discrimination and violence
- Facilitating the development and implementation of gender-sensitive projects and initiatives
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions on gender equality and women’s empowerment
- Providing training and education on gender issues and perspectives.
- Conducting literature reviews and research on gender-related topics
- Performing administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as gender studies.
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of gender-related issues and current events
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
