We are looking for two (2) suitable candidates to take on the role of Accounts Assistant. The position will carry out all VIYA and PSI-Uganda Mobile Money payments processing, support routine Accounts payable, filing Scan & attach (Upload) Soft copies into QBE, and support routine QBE accounting system Treasury & Payables transactions posting in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, according to PSIU/VIYA and donor financial policies and guidelines.

Your contribution
1. Preparation and Posting of Invoices in the Quick Books Enterprise Accounting system (Enter Bill Module) in a timely accurate and complete manner in accordance with PSIU/VIYA and donor financial policies and guidelines
2. Process PSIU/VIYA Accounts Receivables transactions (e.g., customer invoices/sales) in Quick Books Accounting (QBE) accurately, completely, and promptly
3. Perform accurate and timely initiation of VIYA and PSI-Uganda mobile money payments on the BEYONIC platform in accordance with PSI-Uganda/VIYA financial guidelines for mobile money transactions
4. Accurately and promptly post all approved Mobile Money transactions into the Quick Books Accounting system using the Write Check module, ensuring completeness and timeliness in accordance with PSI-Uganda/VIYA financial policies
5. Provide support to the VIYA Management team in the timely delivery of financial documents for review during donor audits.
6. Maintain an organized and complete filing system for VIYA/PSI-Uganda financial documents by conducting daily scanning and filing of mobile money payment vouchers and accounts payable/treasury-related proofs of payment in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Scan and upload VIYA/PSI-Uganda Treasury and Mobile Money financial documents (such as payment vouchers, journal vouchers, and deposit vouchers) into QBE, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in accordance with PSI-Uganda/VIYA and donor financial policies and guidelines.
8. Support the preparation of Monthly Balance sheet Account schedules and Aging reports that support the VIYA and PSI-Uganda monthly Platform monthly financial reports to PSI/W in accordance with the PSI monthly Field Finance Certification checklist.
9. Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Treasury Coordinator Uganda
What are we looking for?
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting or Business Administration or Commerce.
2. 1-2 years of accounting experience
3. Experience working with Accounting/Finance software e.g., QBE, Lawson, etc.
4. Previous experience working with a donor-funded NGO is preferred.
