Transport Coordinator NFT Consult Limited

Our client in the Energy Sector seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and results-oriented individual for the vacancy above.
As an electricity distributor, UMEME is licensed to distribute and supply electricity to customers. This mandate involves; the operation, maintenance and upgrade of electricity distribution infrastructure, electricity retail and provision of related services. The sector is regulated by the Electricity Regulatory Authority, whose mandate includes setting operating standards and appropriate end-user tariffs.

Duties and Responsibilities;
1. Leads, directs, guides and monitors the work of Transit Service Operators, Van Drivers and casual relief drivers.
2. Responds to requests for assistance by troubleshooting and providing solutions to driver-related problems.
3. Resolves operational problems related to shuttles and sale of parking permits.
4. Investigates situations and complaints, and recommends solutions.
5. Provides assistance in the planning, research and development, and implementation of department policies and procedures.
6. Coordinates special projects to accomplish department objectives and other tasks requested by the department manager.
7. Reviews video surveillance and investigates operational complaints. Performs accident investigations as needed.
8. Assists other department staff in the parking office as needed.
9. Maintains current knowledge of federal and state guidelines, college and departmental policies and procedures.
10. May be required to drive van shuttles on a backup basis, which may result in working occasional overtime and filling in on a last minute notice.
11. Provides backup for the Operations Assistant/Parking Transportation Services.
12. May perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Operating a computer and various software packages.
2. Researching and locating information using online and other sources.
3. Leading, training and coordinating the work of others in a team environment.
4. Organizing and keeping records.
5. Management skills.
6. Current traffic, parking and transportation issues.
7. Applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
8. Departmental processes and procedures.

Abilities;
1. Maintain effective working relationships.
2. Effectively evaluate a situation or issue and develop sound working solutions.
3. Effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.

Requirements;
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Two years of college level course work in the area of public administration, business administration, urban or transportation planning or related field.
3. Valid professional driver’s license.
4. Excellent Communication, organizational and time management skills.
5. Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps.
6. Good driving record with no traffic violations
