About US:
The groups’ association “Insieme si può…” (ISP) is a non-profit NGO based in Belluno that is committed in the local area and in around thirty countries in the South of the world in supporting children, women and men living in extreme poverty and in situations of emergency or conflict. It carries out emergency and development cooperation projects that mainly guarantee food, water, school, professional training, human development, health, female empowerment, and distance support.
ISP is engaged in Uganda, where it has two territorial offices (Kampala and Moroto) and its own expatriate and local staff who have been working through the local NGO “Insieme si può”, since 1983. The mission focuses on improving the quality of life of those groups that are the most disadvantaged and vulnerable in the country by strengthening their ability to identify and resolve situations of need relating to basic needs, health, the social and economic sphere, school, human development and the environment.
Job Summary: The resource will be employed in the coordination of the Moroto office (Karamoja) and in activities and projects that are developed and implemented there. If necessary, it may be assigned to the drafting and monitoring of projects in the Kampala office and the remaining Ugandan territory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordination, supervision and support in the drafting, administration, implementation and reporting of projects, in order to guarantee the best achievement of the set objectives in collaboration with the Country Representative, the Italy Desk and the Administrative Management of the organization in Italy, and with beneficiaries, stakeholders, lenders, local and international partners;
- Collaboration, where possible and necessary, with the local staff of the Moroto office in the implementation of project activities;
- Communication and collaboration with project partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders;
- Administrative management of the Moroto office and the accounting of the activities carried out there, in collaboration with the Country Representative and the administrative staff of Moroto and Kampala;
- Collaboration in the management of local human resources and coordination of human resources involved in projects for correct planning and implementation of activities;
- Reception and management of any volunteers and/or donors visiting the projects in Karamoja;
- Maintain relations and carry out a role of representation with local and international partner organizations and realities, institutions, leaders and donors, in collaboration with the Country Representative;
- Establish and maintain political and institutional relations necessary for the proper functioning of the projects and facilitate their visibility both on site and in Italy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education: Graduated in International Cooperation and Development or similar qualification
- Professional experience: At least four years of significant experience in international cooperation and/or humanitarian aid projects, in roles of responsibility, in the areas of competence. Previous experience in Africa required; desirable direct knowledge of Uganda and Karamoja.
- Computer skills: autonomy in the management of administrative software, office applications, and online communication tools.
- Fluency in English required
- Basic accounting skills.

- Project cycle management skills and ability in the preparation of narrative and financial reports
- Familiarity with the policies, procedures and guidelines of major international donors
- Maturity in handling tense situations and ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to travel in relation to needs and safety conditions
