Overview
Are you passionate about quality, impactful, evidence-based, scalable programs for children? Do you want to use your expertise to bring about lasting change for children and be a part of an inspiring, dynamic global movement?
The U-Learn Learning Hub (LH) is an innovative and exciting project (from Response Innovation Lab – RIL) that brings cross-sectoral learning directly to the Uganda refugee response. The Learning Hub works to assure that existing evidence (resources and experiences) are known and used so they can feed into decision making processes, and ultimately lead to changes in policy and practice.
The LH is conceptualized as a public good and works on facilitating cross-sectoral learning, and uptake of that learning, in the Ugandan protracted refugee response. The thematic focus includes topics such as refugee self-reliance, refugee participation, the humanitarian/Development Nexus, Market System Development, Private Sector Engagement, Energy, Entrepreneurship and Employment. The Learning Hub is part of U-Learn and of the Uthabiti Activity.
• The FCDO-funded U-Learn consortium is led by RIL, in partnership with IRC and IMPACT Initiatives. It’s objective is to generate and encourage uptake of evidence and insights for the Uganda refugee response.
• The USAID-funded “Uthabiti” Activity is implemented by Save the Children, in partnership with RIL, Swiss contact, Grameen Foundation, PHB Development, and Mandulis Energy, is facilitating diverse and resilient livelihoods for refugees and host communities in Isingiro and Lamwo districts. The project focuses on promoting value-addition opportunities in primarily off-farm activities while also addressing critical gaps in the selected value chains that limit economic activity, including access to clean energy and financial services.
