Child Development Officer- Health Baptist Union Of Uganda

Core Duties & Responsibilities.
1. Serves as an advocate for children and their caregivers who live in poverty and are not able to speak out for themselves.
2. Implements the day-to-day running of the project health activities for the achievement of physical development outcomes.
3. Initiates the generation of the annual health work plan and coordinates its implementation with emphasis on the prevention of diseases among the beneficiaries.
4. Coordinates health screening for project children and Child Survival Program mothers.
5. Coordinates medical care and distribution of provisions to the identified beneficiaries such as children and caregivers.
6. Ensures proper documentation and record keeping of all health-related issues for the beneficiaries with the utmost confidentiality.
7. Responsible for the physical, cognitive, and economic development of the sponsored children.
8. Plans and coordinates health-related training, information, education, and communication (IEC) to the project management, caregivers, and children.
9. Ads as a consultant on all health issues that affect children and the community by using his or her experience and expertise to challenge, motivate, sensitize and equip the church on ways of preventing diseases, immunization of children, the celebration of health days as well as dealing with epidemics.

Requirements
1. Be a mature born again, Christian, with a sound testimony.
2. Must have a professional background in any of the following: nursing, primary healthcare, community health, dinical medicine, or social work administration.
3. The minimum qualification will be a diploma or its equivalent.
4. Must have good interpersonal skills. Experience and current knowledge of HIV/AIDS intervention will be an added advantage.
5. Formal training in counseling and child development will be an added advantage.
6. Must have computer skills.
7. Good written communication skills and strong verbal communication skills.
8. Age: 22-35.
