Reports to: Head, Law Reporting, Research & Law Reform

 

About US:

Law Development Centre (LDC) will provide legal education to lawyers and non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching materials and law reports, and also provide community legal services.

 

Job Summary:  The Research & Publications Officer will assist in the initiation and design of research projects.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To draft research proposals.
  • To gather, analyse and interpret data for publication.
  • To collect judgements to assist in Law Reporting.
  • To participate in developing research strategies for LDC.
  • To participate in impact assessment and performance evaluation of LDC’s research findings.
  • To assist in Law Reform activities.
  • To draft papers for various officials to present in workshops and seminars.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Law – LLB (Hon) degree.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
  • Must be an enrolled advocate.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience in legal research.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal relationship and management skills.
  • Should be creative and innovative.
  • He/she should be a person of high integrity.
  • Results Oriented.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills.
  • He/she should be a team player.
