Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for the Identification, assessment, and management of credit and market risk exposures of I&M Bank Uganda limited while providing independent oversight and assurance to management that established controls are operating as intended to ensure compliance with regulations and established Bank policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive and oversee trade finance business and strategy across the bank. Achieve sales performance targets as specified and agreed within annual objectives
Proactively support Relationship Managers to manage relationships of existing and agreed target clients in order to develop structure and review proposals that meet customer requirements.
• Identify product gaps or new product opportunities to influence the development of key new product service initiatives and more cost-effective delivery channels. Structure compelling solution proposals and input to credit applications in conjunction with product and relationship teams, aligned to strategy and mitigating associated transactional risks.
• Participate in account/ customer relationship planning to ensure full solution delivery to meet customer needs.
Support call reports to summarize discussions, opportunities and agreed actions related to all client sales calls.
• Uncover client dissatisfaction with current situation in areas where I&M can provide alternative solutions.
• Update sales pipeline on a weekly basis as new business opportunities are identified and existing transactions are moved forward. Develop a daily salesforce mechanism and ensure efficient pipeline management
• Influence relative importance of client decision criteria to maximize fit of I&M proposed solutions
Structure compelling solution proposals to demonstrate a thorough understanding of each client’s requirements and objectives. Increase cross sale per client.
• Monitor progress of all implementations and provide appropriate support to ensure all client expectations are met or exceeded.
• Develop links with other related companies and product areas to maximize cross selling opportunities.
• Attend selected seminars and conferences to promote trade and cash solutions to targeted clients and prospects.
• Coach and up skill team members in regard to trade and cash products as opportunities present themselves.
• Ensure all business and transactional activity comply fully with banks policies.
• Take personal responsibility to ensure that all training as laid down by the bank standard guidelines is adhered to and completed within the stated timelines.

Requirement
Minimum Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related Field from a recognized University.
• Professional qualification or on-going pursuit will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related function with a consistently good performance record for the last 1 year is desirable

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Good knowledge and understanding of credit and treasury processes, products, and regulatory requirements.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• General knowledge of risks related to Credit and treasury business and the banking industry.
• Ability to learn and easily adapt to changes in regulatory requirements, bank processes and procedures.
• Must be proactive, have an analytical mind, pay attention to detail with problem-solving skills to quickly stop threats of significant impact to the institution.
