ACODEV is an NGO that was established in 2003 and fully registered by government of Uganda. Initially founded as a self funded health program to fill service delivery gap in communities during the political insurgency in the Rwenzoriregion of Western Uganda that witnessed human rights abuses, gender-based violence, breakdown in social and health systems; ACODEV has grown and expanded its programs for the benefit of communities targeting women, children and youth. Today we have presence in more than 28 districts in Western, Central, West Nile and Northern regions of
Uganda and are still spreading our wings with different innovative development and humanitarian programs to other parts of Uganda.

Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be part of the daily operations of ACODEV Health Promotion Program. The Project Coordinator will assist with programmatic infrastructure development as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to managing the diverse community health Projects. Additionally, this position will be instrumental to the core Family Planning team by assisting with daily tasks, including but not limited to: preparation and dissemination of regularly scheduled communications, drafting of reports, contracts management and data monitoring. The Project Coordinator will interact both with ACODEVs’ internal team members and external sub- recipients and stakeholders, including Family Planning Consortium, consultants, community-based partners, government representatives, and the general community. This position will be a member of the core Family Planning team which resides within the Health Promotion Department within ACODEV and is expected to participate in all departmental meetings and activities as needed and may sit in the Senior Management Team (SMT). As a program leader, the Project Coordinator is responsible for supervision and management of a field project team and runs a fieldm project office to help advance ACODEVs’ organizational mission and strategic vision, serving as a role model for staff.
ACODEV is therefore seeking for a suitable candidate to fill the above position with the following requirements:

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Administration and Management:
• Supports the day-to-day administrative decisions as a team leader, ensuring strong communication, organization, planning, and coordination within the team. Specific duties include and may not be limited to the following
• Proactively coordinating and supporting the preparation and execution of regular team meetings, workshops, webinars, teleconferences and events. This includes drafting and copy-editing presentations, documents, and reports, coordinating and finalizing meeting agendas, disseminating and compiling information, note taking, tracking and following up on action items, providing technology and logistics support, and other administrative support functions as needed;
As needed, providing administrative support during the recruitment, on boarding, and orientation of new and transitioning team members.
• Consistently exercise discretion and sound judgment to analyze, interpret and act, evaluating possible courses of conduct and making decisions for the best outcomes for the client, team and the organization.

• Project Implementation and supervision:
• Lead the implementation of project activities to achieve the overall project goals and objectives and ensure timely submission of reports/data, to assure program goals and objectives are met.
• Provide support and guidance for family planning field team through day-to-day supervision and coaching for professional growth of the project teams.
• Seek and Implement Opportunities for Program Advancement and Expansion and represent ACODEV at project-related local, state, and national meetings, conferences, and donor meetings.
Engage in on-going communication about program progress, including successes and challenges, with supervisor and other stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Maintain high ethical standards and conduct regarding confidentiality, integrity, dual relationships, and professional behavior overall, representing ACODEV effectively and positively to all internal and external constituents.
• Ensure scopes of work and project budgets are regularly updated, at least annually to reflect activities of the projects’ annual actions plans
• 2. Partnership management & capacity building:
• Identify stakeholders at both district and National level and coordinate good working relationships with them; manage relationships with these partners to ensure deliverables are met timely and with the required quality; ongoing review and assessment of staff performance and provision of support as needed through development, implementation and monitoring of their capacity development plans;
• Lead in preparing and making presentations to stakeholders, partners and during training sessions on family planning sessions for staff, government counterparts and communities.
• Ensure Project reports, both financial and narrative, are submitted timely and analyzed and that feedback is shared with donors and staff;
• Ensure stakeholders/partners have in-depth knowledge of different project objectives and strategies;
• Ensure that Stakeholders and Project staff are involved in all critical moments and events of the projects (consultancies, planning meetings, review meetings, baseline, midterm review, end line, steering committee meetings, etc.) and that all key information is shared with them in a transparent manner and in real time;
• Work closely with other ACODEV and donor partners under different projects and partnerships.
• Build the capacity of ACODEV staff and partners in Health and child rights programming thematic approaches that benefit the overall impact populations of ACODEV.
• Initiate and lead in proposal development to source for resources to further ACODEV mission from current and potential development partners
• 3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning:
• Ensure a results-based monitoring and evaluation system is developed with SMART indicators, with the engagement of stakeholders/ Partners and the development of a learning system that not only generates quantitative data but allows for ongoing collection of participants views on the programs’ relevance and success;
• Ensure a project database is developed and maintained to allow keeping track project tracking and allow for data disaggregation, analysis and reporting;
• Ensure ACODEV and partner staff are trained on the developed monitoring and evaluation system;
• Coordinate and manage the design of the base lines, midterm reviews and end line evaluations;
• Actively facilitate and document quarterly project reviews with key partners and ensure these reviews inform project implementation and are used to improve project quality;
• Ensure generation of informative papers, briefs, human interest stories and papers that can be used for advocacy or information purposes; and further replication and learning.
• Lead the team members and stakeholders in writing progress as well as donor reports, as per internal and donor guidelines to meet the timelines and standards
• Ensure learning products are developed in coordination with relevant Project Staff and lead in dissemination of such ACODEV and donor materials.

• Job Requirements, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate for the Project Coordinator UFPA career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Social Sciences, development studies or any related field (a Master’s degree in Public Health or any humanities will be an added advantage).
• At least 5 years’ experience and working knowledge in a similar position and demonstratable ability to coordinate at least more than one Project or a set of grants.
• Possess excellent skills and experience in M&E reporting, advocacy, report writing, participatory planning, financial management, Human Resource Management.
• People person with proven experience coordinating diverse teams and individuals’ performance for success
• Expert level knowledge and at least five years practical experience working with Civil Society Organizations, particularly in the themes related to the work of ACODEV at district level is required;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Computer literacy skills i.e., proficiency in E-mail, word processing, excel, spreadsheets etc.
• Personally committed to Child Rights Promotion, equality and women and girls’ empowerment with ability to lead to organizational change processes that aim at making organizations more Child centered, and Gender sensitive.
• Both a team player as well as able to work independently with minimum supervision.
