The job holder is responsible for:
• Support department in preparation of internal meetings, weekly internal reports, monthly reports and quarterly reporting to regulators (NEMA, DWRM and PAU)
• Act as the TEPU focal point for the collection and management of all environmental data. This includes the collection of information from project teams and contractors to ensure that all group and regulatory reporting requirements are complied with
• Responsible for reviewing all permits, licenses, authorizations, notifications and consents and ensuring that a system for capturing reporting requirements is maintained
• Coordinate the annual reporting campaign required by the Group.
• Support the H3SE Data Coordinator in development of environment data maps and proposing systems for ongoing management of data requirements
• Follow-up on regulatory and stakeholder engagements by ensuring minutes of meetings are signed and commitments/actions are tracked; with regular reminders provided to department manager as appropriate.
• Maintain an up-to-date folder in Teams with all memos/ letters sent/received and ensure that progress as well as requests/actions are tracked; with regular reminders provided to department manager as relevant
• Support department in drafting responses/enquiries as relevant
• Support department in sharing required reports to PAU in support of budget exercise and ensure progress is tracked
• Support environmental studies and surveys in field in terms of logistical arrangements as well as stakeholder engagements as directed by coordinators/engineers in charge of studies
• Act as focal point for internal/external environmental communication including intranet updates, production of dashboards and awareness campaigns
• Contribute to building an open and trusting relationship with regulatory agencies such as National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), Directorate of Water Resources Management (DWRM), Ugandan Wildlife Authority (UWA),Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU).
• Support department in ensuring that findings and actions from of audit & inspections are recorded and tracked adequately in Synergi
• Responsible for running of monthly reports and follow up related to environment and biodiversity in Synergi for review by department manager
• Support department coordinators and manager in the development of presentation material required for internal/external meetings
• Other activities which may arise and are related to the job assignment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Qualification:
BSc. Degree or equivalent
Experience:
• Existing experience in data management and reporting on Oil and Gas Activities
• Strong organisation and analytical/problem solving skills is highly desirable
• Proven ability to work and meet deadlines
