About US:

The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda’s apex body for the private sector, is collaborating with the MasterCard Foundation (MCF) to co-implement the Young Africa Works in Uganda – Enhancing Lead Firm Structure for Youth Employment Project. The Intervention’s ultimate goal is to create dignified and fulfilling work for young women and men and contribute to the effort to lifting Ugandans out of poverty.

 

Job Summary:  The Membership Department is responsible and accountable for growing PSFU membership (numbers and services), countrywide outreach as well as satisfying members’ needs. To this end, the Directorate initiates and implements a variety of activities; mainly recruitment drives, outreaches, capacity building, business development, project management, business and networking, fundraising, Marketing and Events Management all aimed at delivering value for members. In order for the Department to fulfil its growing obligations; it requires the services of an Events and Marketing Officer to take charge of Events and marketing activities. The Events and Marketing Development Officer report to the Chief Membership Officer.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead PSFU membership’s event and marketing strategy, including but not limited to: identifying key events, membership training for attendees, maintain pre- and post-event communication, event attendance, business development services, stakeholder engagement activities in line with the PSFU strategy.
  • Work with PSFU chief membership officer and head of communications and PR to organize staff, membership events and business development services.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts for large- and small-scale events
  • Design through the line activities, implement marketing and activity influenced pipeline, onsite activations and support of the members.
  • Analyze, track, and report on event ROI based on predetermined pipeline, revenue, and metrics using CRM, email marketing, project management, and similar systems
  • Lead and manage a team of event marketing specialists to drive visibility and stand out of PSFU amongst members.
  • Build relationships with PSFU members on a one-to-one basis through cycle planning and visits and track customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the PSFU creative agent to ensure prominent display and accurate representation of the PSFU brand on member communications and events.
  • Responsible for ordering and tracking event inventory include collateral, giveaways, etc
  • Regular engagement and update of members on ongoing activities.
  • Travel frequently – up to 50 percent of your time will be spent traveling to various events

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (honors) in marketing or related discipline
  • Three years of related marketing experience, ideally in event marketing, demand generation, or sales enablement
  • Proven experience carrying out event marketing efforts, including trade show planning, attendance, and reporting
  • Experience partnering with a customer community.
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage resources, budgets, and onsite personnel
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • You are creative, innovative, and always think outside the box
  • Highly organized and proficient at managing multiple projects at a time
  • You are metric driven and have the ability to draw insight from complex marketing data
  • Confident with a dynamic personality
  • Capable of working long hours, and traveling frequently
