About US:

PostBank Uganda Ltd is a Government owned bank regulated by Bank of Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act, 2004. The bank focuses on the mass market with operations spread across the country.

 

Job Summary:  The ICT Support Officer will be responsible for ensuring support to Finacle and other user applications, routine installation of IT infrastructure to end users where necessary.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Receive all IT related requests and incidents via the IT Service desk system, email or phone and resolve them promptly.
  • Ensure that all IT requests and incidents are properly logged, serialized and tracked for closure.
  • Coordinate with the bank users to ensure that they receive responses to all IT queries or requests promptly.
  • Operate the IT service desk to ensure that IT service meets agreed service levels with the business.
  • Provide user support on the core banking application (Finacle) and other IT applications to all bank users.
  • Works with end users, gather needs and make recommendations for improvements in the bank systems;
  • Provides support to PC users relative to operating hardware, software and communication services.
  • Basic installation and troubleshooting of Microsoft products especially office applications and operation systems, email setup and routine configurations for bank users.
  • Assist with hardware and software installation, maintenance, printer setup and other hardware peripherals.
  • Prepare monthly reports for incidences, faults and related IT issues.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or Business computing.
  • Certification in ITIL or other customer service training is an added advantage.
  • At least two to three years of work experience in a fast paced business environment
  • Ability to trouble shoot in technical areas.
  • Primarily the position requires a person with previous customer support experience,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Strong commitment to service, ability to work independently, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Versatile individual with a good attitude.
  • Desire to continuously learn from peers and industry
  • Proactive and good at problem solving
