IDI is looking for a competent and experienced individual to fill the position below:
General summary
The study research assistant will support the updating and maintenance of the study records. This position will also provide ongoing support to the study nurses.
Key Responsibilities
• Will be responsible for conducting ICEA data entries for ENACT, HARVEST and IMPROVE participants who are enrolled into the IDI clinic
• Maintaining all study documents in good filing order and ensuring that all documents are arranged in chronological order and can easily be obtained whenever needed by the other team members
Will ensure that all study case report forms are reviewed for completeness at the end of each day and that study staff correct all required fields in real time.
• Will work together with the QC nurse to prepare files that are listed on the study QC report and will participate in ensuring that queries are resolved
• Periodic data cleaning and validation to ensure that the study data base is accurate
• Will liaise with the records office to retrieve patient files and will return then weekly for data entry in ICEA.
• Will retrieve and file patient blood results and request forms in the respective files and will ensure they are transcribed in real time.
• Will ensure that study documents are maintained with confidentiality according to GCP
• Participate in any other study related duties assigned by the relevant authorities
Person Specification
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Social science or related field with a computing bias
• Two (2) years professional and or analytical work experience in monitoring and evaluation preferred.
• Strong computer skills are an added advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with electronic databases, especially ICEA
Required experience and skills
• Good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, strong service ethic, sensitivity to patients, professionalism, and attention to detail are required.
• Demonstrable knowledge and extensive previous experience in clinical research is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office application.
