Job Purpose
• To identify potential hazards and provide solutions related to the daily Logistics activities.
• To assist management in ensuring legal compliance of the department with SHEQ requirements.
• To aid the department in preparing for audits and to facilitate both internal and external audits. To manage SHEQ systems and related administration of the department.

• Educational Qualifications
• Relevant degree/ Diploma.
• Nebosch Certification

• Experience Requirements
• 5 years of experience in HSE practice in a similar environment.

• Knowledge
• Knowledge of applicable legislation.

• Other Requirements
• Must be able to communicate, read and write clearly and professionally in English.

• Key Job Responsibilities
• Business Process / Admin
• To assist with and implement a SHEQ administration and record system as required by the internal SHEQ audit system, related to all activities of the department.
• Facilitate departmental SHEQ meetings and ensure that minutes are drafted and distributed.
• Ensure/enforce contractor’s compliance on site (e.g. Induction, work permits, risk assessments, contractor’s files and related documents).
• Conduct accident investigations where required.
• Implementation of corrective actions.
• Oversee the updating and audit correctness of the SHEQ Management system.
• Ensure risk assessments are done where required.
• Ensure ISOMartix is utilized.
• Promote SHEQ awareness through toolbox talks, incident recalls risk assessments, job observations, SHEQ Alerts and other safety incentive initiatives.
• Assist in implementing the findings of audit results.
• Draft non-conformances and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Assist in the implementation of SHEQ objectives and targets as set by site management.
• Monitor safe behaviour through behavioural observations
• Create and implement safety checklists (e.g. fire equipment, electrical equipment, etc.)
• Liaison with site Health and Safety representatives.
• Review compliance with company rules and procedures.
• Conduct equipment inspections for legal compliance and to promote safe conditions
• Record, update and organize all SHEQ-related documentation.

• Conduct regular awareness training on all sites
• Ensure Health and Safety representative, PPE, Risk assessment, first aider, firefighter and handling of hazardous training is up to date.
